Adipotide, also called FTPP or prohibitin-targeting peptide-1, is a designed peptidomimetic of 25 residues in two parts. The first nine, CKGGRAKDC, form a homing motif selected for binding to the blood vessels of white adipose tissue; two glycines link it to (KLAKLAK)2, a fourteen-residue segment built from D-amino acids, which proteases do not readily cleave. The founding papers describe a disulfide between Cys1 and Cys9, while the formula in our fact table is the reduced form with two free thiols, as deposited in PubChem.
