Thymosin β4 is a natural actin-binding peptide of 43 residues, the product of the human TMSB4X gene once the initiator methionine is removed. The material we list as TB-500 is this full-length chain, acetylated on the N-terminal serine and ending in a free acid; it contains no cysteine, and its single sulphur atom belongs to methionine 6. Because the name TB-500 is also used for the seven-residue fragment Ac-LKKTETQ, which has a page of its own here, the fact table and the lot COA are the reference for which molecule a vial holds.
