Epithalon, also written Epitalon, is the tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG) with a free amine at one end and a free acid at the other. It was made as a defined synthetic peptide in the research lineage that had earlier worked with Epithalamin, a heterogeneous extract of bovine pineal gland; the two are different materials and cannot stand in for each other. On pepoderma it is one of the ageing-biology research compounds of the skin and ageing topic, beside FOXO4-DRI, SS-31, Humanin, NAD+ and glutathione. The studies in our product data examined telomerase and telomere length in cultured human fibroblasts and in breast-cancer and normal cell lines, and retinal degeneration in a small group of patients and in Campbell rats.
