IGF-1 LR3, registered as Long-(Arg3)-insulin-like growth factor-I, is an analogue of human IGF-I with 83 residues: a 13-residue N-terminal extension followed by the 70-residue mature hormone, in which glutamate 3 is replaced by arginine. Both changes lower its binding to the IGF-binding proteins. Its six cysteines form the three disulfide bonds of the parent hormone, renumbered by the extension, so the molecule is a small folded protein rather than a short peptide. On pepoderma it is listed with the hair-topic peptides; no study in our product data concerns hair follicles. Those studies cover the design of recombinant fusion analogues of IGF-I, a study of this analogue in guinea pigs, and the role of satellite cells in skeletal muscle exposed to IGF-I itself.
