Lys-Pro-Val, the C-terminal tripeptide of α-MSH, as a free acid
Research topic: Skin & ageing · group: Other skin-research peptides
KPV is the tripeptide Lys-Pro-Val with a free carboxylic acid at its C-terminus. It matches residues 11 to 13 of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), which ends in an amidated valine instead, so the two differ in mass and CAS. On this site KPV belongs to the skin and ageing topic: the papers in our product data follow how the tripeptide crosses excised human skin, how cells take it up through the PepT1 transporter, and how carriers such as hyaluronic-acid nanoparticles change its behaviour in mouse models. The CAS, formula and mass in the fact table refer to the free acid; the COA of each lot confirms what was made.
The COA of every lot of KPV reports:
Ask for the COA of the batch you are quoted; the batch number on it is the batch we ship.

What to put in your quote request
With these facts the first reply can carry the unit price per kit, shipping and lead time.
No. KPV is three residues long and α-MSH thirteen. KPV corresponds to the last three (Lys-Pro-Val) but carries a free acid where α-MSH carries an amide, so its formula, mass and CAS number are its own.
Because part of its literature concerns skin: Pawar and colleagues (2017) measured how it passes through excised human skin, with microporation and iontophoresis compared. The other studies in our product data used cells and mouse models.
One kit is 10 vials of the same product at the same strength. Each vial holds the stated amount, for example 10 mg of lyophilized peptide; the few solutions are stated per vial in mg or ml. 1 kit per product and strength. One order can combine several products and strengths, each from 1 kit.
HPLC purity, MS identity, endotoxin and fill, on the COA of every lot of a stocked peptide. The COA carries the lot number, so you can match it to the vials you receive. Yes. Ask for the COA of the batch you are quoted; the batch number on that COA is the batch we ship.
In writing, per request. Prices are tiered by the number of kits of each peptide and strength; the quotation gives the unit price per kit, the shipping cost and the lead time. We reply within 24 hours.
Because listings describe different forms: a free peptide or a salt (acetate, TFA), a copper complex or its free peptide, one peptide or a two-peptide material — and some registries keep older numbers. Each product page says which form its values refer to; the COA of the lot is the reference.
